(Ret.) Gunnery Sgt. Edward Stancill, 58, of the 1400 block of Ramblewood Drive, died Jan. 8, 1996.
He was retired from the U.S. Marine Corps. after 20 years. He was a native of New York and a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Odessa V. Stancill of Norfolk; two daughters, Carolyn F. Stancill, Antoinett Murphy; two stepdaughters, Christina A. Lathon, Cherise Gooden, all of Norfolk; son, Raymond E. Stancill of Norfolk; 13 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nettie Stancill and Edward William.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Anthony E. Moses in Hale Funeral Chapel, Norfolk. Burial is in Quantico National Cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at the home at 9 a.m. Tuesday for the funeral procession to the chapel. A viewing of the remains will begin Sunday at 11 a.m.
