Senior CPO Edward F. Messinger of the U.S. Navy (Ret.), 76, of 1400 Sunset Drive, died Jan. 11, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Messinger was born in Rawlings, Wy. He was the widower of Ann L. Messinger. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a survivor of Pearl Harbor.
Survivors include one step son, J. F. Bannon of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Mrs. H.W. Thomas, Mrs. Art M. Neidzielski both of Freemont, Calif., Molly N. Howard of Mohbebally, Ariz.; one brother, Charles E. Messinger Jr. of Greer, S.C.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens by Reverend Charles Joy. The family will be at 217 57th Street, Virginia Beach, 23451. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, are handling arrangements.
