MARJORIE H. BLANCHARD

Marjorie V. Haynie Blanchard, 88, of the 5500 block of Elgin Road, died Jan. 11, 1996, in her residence, due to natural causes.

She was retired from L. Synder Co. Department where she was a buyer. She was a native of Reidville, Va., and was the widow of Herman V. Blanchard. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church of Reidville, Va. She was very active during World War II with First Aid, Plane S Spotting, and she was also the Red Cross First Aid Lady. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Her family was her life and she will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie A. ``Teeny'' Roper of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren, William Roper Jr. of Virginia Beach, David Roper of Portsmouth, Kimberley Ruffin, Michael Roper, Beth Johnson, all of Virginia Beach; and 13 great-grandchildren, Deanna, Ricky, Shannon, David, Tiffany, Ashley, Brandy, Jesse, Christopher, Megan, Chelsa, Ryan, and Jimmy.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Rosewood Memorial Park by the Rev. Joe Carson. The family will receive friends at Kellum Funeral Home, Pleasant Hall Chapel, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m., and at other times at the residence on Elgin Road, Virginia Beach.
