Cohen O'Neal ``C.O.'' White, 62, of Route 1, died Jan. 13, 1996, in Roanoke Chowan Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. White was born in Bertie County, N.C., and was a member of Ahoskie First Baptist Church. He was a retired Division 1 engineer for the North Carolina Department of Transportation. He was a graduate of North Carolina State University, Raleigh.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Mobley White; a daughter, Katherine Frances White of Raleigh; two sons, Douglas O'Neal White and wife, Anlena, of Raleigh and Roy Edward White and wife, Sara, of Charleston, S.C.; mother, Theo Hoggard White of Askewville, N.C.; a sister, Nell Dawson of Windsor, N.C.; two grandsons, Daniel O'Neal White and Andrew Sullivan White, both of Charleston, S.C.; and a granddaughter, Kelly Frances White of Raleigh, N.C.
The funeral will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. by Dr. Jesse J. Croom in Ahoskie First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens. Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, in charge. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to Roanoke Chowan Hospice, P.O. Box 272, Ahoskie, N.C. 27910.
