GEORGE P. PERRY JR.

George P. Perry Jr., 78, of the 200 block of Chautauqau Ave., died Jan. 16, 1996, in Maryview Nursing Center.

Mr. Perry was a native of Hampton and a 50 year resident of Portsmouth. He was a U.S. Army veteran and saw action in the North African and European Campaigns of World War II. He was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a foreman in the Inside Machine Shop. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees Churchland Chapter 1293, The Walter Gardner Coffee Club, Portsmouth Moose Lodge 898, and The Legion of the Moose Chapter 199.

He was the son of George P. Perry and Nellie Mae Dotson Perry. He is survived by two second cousins, Larry Barfoot and Wayne Barfoot; and his brother-in-law, Elwood Foster.

The funeral will be conducted with Moose Rites on Friday, at 1 p.m. in Oakland Cemetery in Hampton. Family and friends will visit this evening in Lawrence B. Wood Funeral Home in Hampton from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations, may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
