About 2,600 Virginia Power customers in the Hilltop area were without electricity Wednesday afternoon for about two hours.
``We have abnormal conditions out there,'' Virginia Power spokeswoman Pat Gayle said Wednesday.
The outage was caused when a static wire, the wire designed to absorb lightning strikes, broke and fell onto a primary wire.
Residential and commercial customers, including the primary shopping centers, were without electricity from 1:45 p.m. to about 3:50 p.m. by CNB
