BEACH FIRE DEPARTMENT HAS TWO NEW TRUCKS

Two salvage/air trucks, valued at $120,000 each, were delivered to

the Virginia Beach Fire Department recently. The trucks, which will

be stationed at the Oceanfront and London Bridge companies, are

operated by volunteer firefighters and are responsible for

refilling air tanks, lighting fire sites and salvaging the contents

of burned buildings. The trucks,with bodies built by Hackney and

Sons Inc. of Washington, N.C., will go into service after training

is completed this month.
