RUTH L. LINNETT

Ruth L. ``Mama Ruth'' Linnett, of the 500 block of Walker Ave., died Jan. 16, 1996, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Linnett, the widow of Norman W. Linnett, was a housewife. She was a native of the Berkley Section of Norfolk. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Berkley Section, Norfolk, Naomi Tent (NU)31, where she was assistant leader and secretary. She was a member of Travelers Social and Savings Club, where she was treasurer.

Survivors include a special cousin, Clyde Sykes of Norfolk; seven foster daughters, April Jackson of Huntsville, Ala., Rita and Anissa Person of Virginia Beach, Carmilla Casey of Norfolk, Jenovia Person of Germany, Rosetta Richardson and Edrita Person, both of Virginia Beach; a son, Avilla Casey of Norfolk; 10 grandchildren; three foster sons, Kevin and Patrick Jackson of Huntsville, Darrell Person of Virginia Beach.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in Chatman Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Zack Pippins. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Monday.
