HARRIET C. MAY

Harriet ConklinMay, 67, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 1996 at a Chesapeake hospital.

Mrs. May was born in Saddle River, N.J., and was a loving wife and mother. She was a Lutheran and a graduate of Dwight School in Englewood, N.J. in 1946. She attended Connecticut College for Women and was a member of Southern Shores Civic Association. Mrs. May was the daughter of the late John C. Conklin Sr. and the late Harriet Swift Conklin and the wife of Donald L. May Sr. of the home.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters; Harriet M. Roberts of West Palm Beach, Fla., Christine M. Hicks of Cleveland, Ohio and Patricia M. Kennedy of Spring Hill, Fla.; three sons, Donald L. May Jr., and Robert K. May of Gaithersburg, Md., and Kenneth C. May of Kitty Hawk, N.C.; two sisters; Jane C. Fowler and Barbara C. Bishop, both of Saddle River, N.J.; one brother, John C. Conklin Jr. of Ridgewood, N.J.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be Saturday, Jan. 20, 1996, at 1 p.m. at Southern Shores Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Gill officiating. The family requests that flowers and/or memorial donations may be made to the Outer Banks Hotline, P.O. Box 1417, Manteo, N.C. 27954. Twiford's Funeral Home, Manteo, is in charge of these arrangements.
