ALFRED B. MORGAN SR.

Alfred Bernard Morgan Sr., 75, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 1996, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.

Mr. Morgan had been employed as the Sexton at First Presbyterian Church, Virginia Beach. He was also a brick mason and had been employed with the civil service. He was a native of Princess Anne County and the son of the late Enoch and Lola Williams Morgan. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist for more than 65 years. During his membership, he had been active in many phases of church life, including the deacon board, trustee board, and a member of the choir.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Ethel Munden Morgan of the home; four daughters, Barbara M. Robinson and Iris M. Womack, both of Massachusetts, Alferette M. Gregory of Mitchellville, Md., and Sandra L. Morgan of Virginia Beach; two sons, Alfred B. Morgan Jr. of Springfield, Va., and M. Guy Morgan of Talahassee, Fla.; two sisters, the Rev. Lola M. Gordon and Isabelle M. King, both of Virginia Beach; brother, the Rev. Clarence M. Morgan Sr. of Virginia Beach; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. today by the Rev. Lamont D. Brown in Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 310 Birdneck Road. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in church at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the church from noon until 12:30 p.m. today. Riddick Funeral Home is in charge.
