Arthur L. ``Slim Arthur'' Johnson, of the 1400 block of W. 39th St., died Jan. 19, 1996, in his residence.
He was retired from the Mary Jane Bakery. Mr. Johnson was a native of Norfolk.
He is survived by his son, Kevin Johnson of Jacksonville, Fla.; five sisters, Mary Parker of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mary Dozier of Norfolk, Elsie Newell of Norfolk, Rosie Mae Walker of Norfolk, Gladys E. Harrell of Portsmouth; two brothers, Richard S. Pope of Brooklyn and Essie Johnson of Norfolk; a grandchild; a daughter-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Larry Rudolph Hailes in Carlos A. Howard Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The remains will be ready for viewing Thursday at 3 p.m. The family will assemble at 2604 Cary St., for the procession at noon.
