John H. Robinson Sr., 71, formerly of 3320 Downes St., died Jan. 22, 1996, in Beverly Manor, Portsmouth.
Mr. Robinson, a retired aircraft mechanic, worked for Norfolk Naval Air Rework Facility for 35 years. He was a native of Greensboro, N.C., and a former member of Fourth Baptist Church, Portsmouth. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include his former wife, Lucy Hinton Robinson of Chesapeake; a daughter, Christine Williams of Virginia Beach; four sons, John H. Robinson Jr. of Portsmouth, Frank M. Robinson and Brandon Robinson, both of Chesapeake, and Arthur D. Robinson of Suffolk; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Fourth Baptist Church by the Rev. Charles Beamon. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, with military honors. A viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. Friday. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Saturday. Family and friends will assemble at the church at 11:45 a.m. Saturday.
