The Khedive Shrine Temple will hold a ceremony at the Douglas MacArthur Memorial on Saturday to mark the 60th anniversary of the general's becoming a Mason.
The program, which will begin at 2:30 p.m., will also celebrate the 116th anniversary of MacArthur's birth on Jan. 26, 1880. It will feature an honorary color guard, music and a speech by the memorial's director, retired Marine Col. William Davis.
MacArthur was made a Mason on Jan. 14, 1936, and became a life member of the Shriners in 1942.
The memorial is at City Hall Avenue and Bank Street in downtown Norfolk. by CNB
