John William ``Billy Bang'' Coleman Jr., 45, died Jan. 23, 1996, in Atlanta, Ga. Mr. Coleman had not been ill but died suddenly of a heart attack.
Mr. Coleman, an account and professional bail bondsman, formerly owned a Bail Bonding Co. in Houston, Texas. He was born in Norfolk and was the son of Priscilla Williams Coleman and the late John W. Coleman Sr. New Calvary Baptist Church was his church home before moving to Houston. He was a graduate of Norview High School and Norfolk State University. He was a member of the Norfolk State University Alumni Association. He was a charter member of the Houston Chapter and had been the financial secretary and treasurer. He was also a member of the Professional Bondsman Association of Texas.
Survivors include his mother, Priscilla W. Coleman of New York; a sister, Vernaize K. Coleman of Houston; a brother, Michael C. Coleman of Houston; aunts, Pearl C. Johnson and Murial C. Perry; and an uncle, Dr. Emmett Coleman Jr.
The funeral will be held at noon Monday in Riddick Funeral Service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Viewing will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday. The family will be at 1705 Bivens, the home of Pearl C. Johnson. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
