EMMA M. MITCHELL

Emma M. Mitchell, of the 100 block of Hanbury Road, died Jan. 24, 1996, in Chesapeake General Hospital.

She was a retired custodian for the Chesapeake Public School System where she had worked for 22 years. She was a native of South Mills, N.C., and the widow of Armer Mitchell. She was a member of United House of Prayer for all People, Fentress, Va., where she was a member of the Senior Usher Board and Heavenly Gospel Choir.

She is survived by six daughters, Emma Wilson, Barbara Jefferson and Gloria Dawson of Chesapeake, Delores Perry of Norfolk, Lydia Taylor and Constance Williams of Marylynd; two sons, Curtis Mitchell Sr. of Chesapeake, and Armer Mitchell Jr. of Richmond; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many other surviving relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in United House of Prayer for all People. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. A family wake will be held in the Fitchett Funeral Home Chapel today from 7 to 8 p.m.
