Wilson J. Howell Sr., 66, of the 2100 block of Wolfsnare Road, died Jan. 24, 1996, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
He was retired from the U.S. Navy as a first class petty officer and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was born in Mishawaka, Ind., and was a Lutheran. He was a volunteer worker for the American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association.
Survivors include his wife Josefina P. Howell of Virginia Beach; five sons, Wilson J. Howell Jr., Steven W. Howell, Philip R. Howell, Paul B. Howell and James W. Howell, all of Virginia Beach; and eleven grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, with Pastor Wally Odum presiding. A burial will be held Monday at 12:30 p.m. in Princess Anne Memorial Park. The family will remain after the service to greet friends.
