Dorothy (``D'') Crowling Bucek, born in Virginia Beach, on March 12, 1961, died Jan. 25, 1996, at the Broward General Hospital in Fort Lauderdale.
D moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1981 with her daughter, Charlene. She was known throughout Broward County as the ``Neighborhood Bartender.'' She planned fund-raisers, cooked and served holiday dinners, being family to many throughout her years in Fort Lauderdale.
Survivors include her husband, Irv Bucek; a daughter, Charlene Spencer; stepsons, Cameron and Anthony Bucek; her mother, Louise Crowling; a sister, Mary Cummings of Virginia Beach; three brothers, John and William Crowling of Virginia Beach and James Crowling of Niceville, Fla.; five nephews; and five nieces.
D will be missed by her friends but never forgotten.
