Sarah White Ware, 82, formerly of Portsmouth, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 1996, in a local hospital.
She was born May 8, 1913, in Portsmouth. She was the daughter of the late William Norman Ware and Sallie Howard White Ware. She was also preceded in death by a brother, William Ware.
Ms. Ware retired in 1978 from the Blue Ridge Sanatorium in Charlottesville as a laboratory tech after 44 years of service. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Portsmouth.
Sarah is survived by her nephew, William Linton Ware, and his wife, Elizabeth, and their daughter, Anna, of Lake Monticello; and several cousins.
A graveside service will be held in the White Family Cemetery in Sutherlin, Va., Tuesday Jan. 30, 1996, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. John Ruef officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hill and Wood Funeral Home.
