THOMAS L. PARKER

Thomas L. Parker, 71, of the 900 block of Thousand Oaks Drive, died Jan. 29, 1996, in Virginia Beach.

Mr. Parker was born in South Norfolk, Va. He was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Norfolk. Mr. Parker served in World War II. He retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 35 years of service. Mr. Parker was a member of the Elks, the American Legion, and was also one of the founders of the Little Theater (sound engineer). He helped establish and organize the Forest Cove Civic League on Back Cove Road in Virginia Beach.

Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Lola Parker. He is survived by his wife, Marie Boogades Parker; a daughter, DD Darling and son-in-law, Tom Darling, both of Virginia Beach; a son, Billy Parker and his partner, Andy Bukowski, both of Norfolk; four sisters, Pat Ruffin of Contoe, Texas, Dorothy Liverman of Chesapeake, Violet Langlois of Waukegan, Ill., and Beverly Irving of Chesapeake; and a brother, Charles M. Parker of Florida.

There will be a memorial service conducted at 5 p.m. Wednesday at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel. The family will receive friends at their home following the service, 944 Thousand Oaks Drive, Virginia Beach.
