Three inspectors from the Raleigh office of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration checked Dare County facilities last week.
Personnel Director Shawn Murphy said the inspectors visited the courthouse, detention center, maintenance shop, recycling center, purchasing department, parks and recreation department, buildings and grounds and the reverse osmosis plant in Kill Devil Hills.
``I understand that they inspected several construction sites in the county and then traveled to Columbia in Tyrrell County on Thursday of last week,'' Murphy said.
The inspectors met with county manager Terry Wheeler Friday.
``They said the facilities in Dare county were typical of a city of comparable size,'' Wheeler said. ``They did not indicate that there were any serious problems.'' by CNB
