ADMIRALS CAN'T HOLD LEADS, BOW TO JACKSONVILLE

Justin McHugh and Hugo Proulx scored shootout goals Monday night as the Jacksonville Lizard Kings defeated the Hampton Roads Admirals 4-3 before 1,289 fans at the Jacksonville Coliseum.

The Admirals took leads of 1-0 and 2-1, and led 3-2 after two periods.

But Jacksonville forced the shootout when Scott Chartier scored a power-play goal with 11:19 left in regulation. Chartier's goal came on a scramble in front of the Hampton Roads net with Jacksonville enjoying a 5-on-3 man advantage.

In the shootout, McHugh scored on Jacksonville's second attempt. The Admirals failed on four tries and Proulx clinched the victory when he beat Mark Bernard on his breakaway. by CNB
