DOROTHY B. DOXEY

Dorothy Loraine Brothers Doxey, 77, died Jan. 31, 1996, in Guardian Care.

She was a native of Pasquotank County and a retired accounting technician of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a daughter of the late Erskine Loftis Brothers and Margaret Helon Williams Brothers, and wife of Ernest C. Doxey of Elizabeth City.

Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter, Audrey Dowdy Lewis of Virginia Beach; a stepdaughter, Barbara Doxey Stone of Elizabeth City; one son, William Norman Dowdy of Fairfax, Va.; three sisters, Velma B. Jackson and Una Mae B. Jackson, both of Elizabeth City and Gladys B. Hewitt of Portsmouth; one brother, Everett L. Brothers of Elizabeth City, Newland Section; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Twiford Memorial Chapel, Church Street, by Rev. William Kyle. Burial will follow in Old Hollywood Cemetery. A visitation will be tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m at Twiford's and at other times the family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Jackson, 853 Halstead Blvd., Elizabeth City. Memorial gifts my be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, South Mills.
