CHESAPEAKE - Barry Lemar Jones, 27, of the 400 block of Crown Crescent, died Jan. 31, 1996, at his home.
Mr. Jones was born in Portsmouth and was a member of Cathedral of Faith Church of God in Christ, Chesapeake. He was previously employed by QVC of Chesapeake. He was a 1986 graduate of Indian River High School and attended Hampton University, where he was a member of the marching band.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Brockenbury of Chesapeake; his father, Lawrence Brockenbury of Chesapeake; a sister, the Rev. Charnal Jones of Washington, D.C.; a brother-in-law, the Rev. Keith Jones of Washington, D.C.; two aunts; six uncles; two great-aunts; a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held at noon today at Cathedral of Faith Church of God in Christ with Dr. G.W. Hardy Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will be at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to the Society for the Aid of Sickle Cell Anemia Inc. Pretlow & Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake, is handling arrangements.
