Gene C. ``Mop Kiah'' Kiah, 63, of the 1900 block of Stonehurst St., died Feb. 3, 1996, in a local hospital.
Mr. Kiah, a retired roofer, worked for Gene's Roofing Company for 20 years. He had been retired for three years. He was a native of Norfolk and a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife, Lois B. Kiah; five daughters, Sylvia Kiah Chapman, Sandra Kiah Jones, Robin J. Mendez, Jean Kiah Johnson, Inez Kiah Barfield; two sons, Harold C. Kiah, Anthony Rondell Kiah; a host of devoted relatives and friends; three cousins, Alvin Jones, Patrick Jones and Curtis Kiah. He was a loving grandfather of 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in New Hope United Church of Christ with the Rev. James Anderson (pastor) and Dr. Jesse Featherstone officiating. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Friends will assemble with the family at the church at noon. A visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Metropolitan Funeral Service, Norfolk.
