The fifth member of a gang who allegedly was involved in Portsmouth's first homicide of 1996 has turned himself in to police.
Maurice Melson turned himself in shortly after 3 p.m. Monday, said Amber Whittaker of the Portsmouth Police Department.
Police are still searching for Anthony Wynn of the 1300 block of Effingham St.
Four other men have been arrested in the shooting death of Mark Anthony Holley of the first block of Swanson Parkway. Holley was shot in the neck shortly before 8 p.m. on Jan. 23. Police said Holley was involved in a drug deal when he was robbed and shot by a group of men, some wearing ski masks.
A companion of Holley's also was assaulted by the men, but managed to escape unhurt.
