A teenager was injured Monday when he was knocked off an inner tube being pulled in the snow by a pickup.
Nicholas Moegenberg, 17, of the 100 block of Raleigh Drive was in stable condition at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Monday evening, a hospital spokeswoman said. He was being treated for a scalp wound, she said.
He was flown to the Norfolk hospital by emergency helicopter, said Suffolk police spokesman Mike Simpkins.
The accident happened about 12:20 p.m. in the Lakeland High School parking lot in the 200 block of Kenyon Road. The tube hit a curb and the teenager went airborne and struck his head on a tree, Simpkins said.
The driver of the pickup, Craig Taylor, 33, of the 200 block of Kenyon Road, was charged with reckless driving.
