Thomas Edward Rawles Sr., 82, of the 500 block of Westmoreland Ave., died Feb. 4, 1996, in Maryview Medical Center.
Mr. Rawles, a retired meat processor, worked for Joel E. Harrell and Sons. He was a native of Suffolk and the widower of Alice Elizabeth Walker Rawles. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Thomas E. Rawles Jr. and his wife, Martha Jo Valentine Rawles, of Roswell, Ga.; two sisters-in-law, Belva S. Walker and Cathrine W. Holland, both of Suffolk; a brother-in-law, Howard T. Walker of Gaithersburg, Md.; a granddaughter, Amy Rawles Andrews and her husband, Doug, of Lilburn, Ga. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary Elizabeth Rawls and Edward B. Rawles; and a granddaughter, Jennifer L. ``Jenny'' Rawles.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. Charles W. Thompson. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Piano Fund, 237 N. Main St., Suffolk, Va. 23434.
