Sadie Leavitt, 94, of the 5900 block of Studeley Ave., died Feb. 7, in her residence.
Mrs. Leavitt has lived in Norfolk since 1945. She was a member of Congregation Beth El and its Sisterhood in Norfolk.
Survivors include her husband, Charles P. Leavitt; a daughter, Harriet Goldenberg and her husband, Jerome of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a son, Sheldon Leavitt and his wife, Marian of Norfolk; a sister, Sally Abrams of Chicago; five grandchildren, Charles Hecht-Leavitt and his wife, Leslie of Norfolk, Jonathan Kahn-Leavitt and his wife, Laurie of Watertown, Mass, Shirra Leavitt of Santa Monica, Calif., Debora Goldenberg of West Palm Beach, Stewert Goldenberg and his wife, Carol of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday, in the Norfolk Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. by Rabbi Arthur Ruberg and Cantor Jacob Tessler. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at their residence, 5907 Studeley Ave., Sunday afternoon from 1 to 4 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Jewish Family Services of Tidewater or a charity of choice.
