Edward Jefferson Hight, 76, of the first block of DeKalb Ave., died Feb. 9, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mr. Hight, a native of Wilks County, N.C., was the widower of Elsie Hight. He was a retired planning supervisor for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of VFW Post 993, NARP Post 1293, AARP, and a past president of Local 393 Sheet Metal Workers Association.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet H. Boone of Chesapeake; a brother, William Leonard Hight of Maden, N.C.; a grandchild, Danielle Boone of Chesapeake.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Alan Moor. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home from 2 to 3 p.m. today and other times at 4200 Genoa Crescent, Chesapeake.
