Elizabeth Ann O'Neal Howard, 85, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 1996, at a hospital in Warrenton, Va.
Mrs. Howard was born in Ocracoke and retired as a postmistress. She was a member of the Ocracoke United Methodist Church and the Retired Postmaster's Association. She was the daughter of the late Issac Willis O'Neal and the late Martha Helen Williams O'Neal. She was the wife of the late Robert Wahab Howard.
Mrs. Howard is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth ``Betty'' H. Chamberlin of Amissville, Va.; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, Feb. 13, 1996, at 1 p.m. at the Ocracoke United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clyde A. Denny officiating. Burial will follow in the O'Neal Family Cemetery in Ocracoke. A visitation is scheduled for Feb. 13, 1996, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church prior to the funeral. Twiford's Island Chapel, Hatteras, is in charge of these arrangements.
