Douglas Earl ``Doug'' Armstrong, 68, of the 5000 block of Sunnywood Drive, died Feb. 8, 1996, in a local hospital.
Mr. Armstrong, a retired Virginia Power network lineman, worked for Virginia Power for 42 years. He was a native of Norfolk and a member of Episcopal Church of the Ascension. He was past master of Ruth Masonic Lodge (NU)89, a member of Scottish Rite Bodies, and Va. Research Lodge (NU)1777. He was an avid fisherman and Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy ``Dot'' Armstrong; three daughters, Gale A. Nuckols, Kelly A. Yost and Jeannine A. Kinzel of Virginia Beach; two sons, Mark Douglas Armstrong of Los Angeles, Calif., and Brian Earl Armstrong of Virginia Beach; his mother, Eunice Stevens Jenkins of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Alice V. Felts of Virginia Beach and Monica Roberts of Indiana; a brother, Harroll A. Armstrong of Virginia Beach; and four grandchildren, Jennifer M. Payton, Douglas Nuckols, Tyler Yost, and Alexa E. Kinzel, all of Virginia Beach.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Episcopal Church of the Ascension by Father Mark Delcuze. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today, where Masonic rites will be conducted at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Episcopal Church of the Ascension or the American Heart Association.
