Maya Garwood Graves, 88, died Feb. 9, 1996.
She was the daughter of the late Charles Ray and Mabel Cahill Songey Garwood. Maya was born Jan. 4, 1908 in Berkeley, Calif. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Garwood Graves.
She is survived by a son, Stephen Garwood Graves of Reston, Va.; a daughter, Perrin Graves MacEachern of Virginia Beach; a brother, Edwin C. Garwood of Berkeley; nine grandchildren, Stephen Arthur, Mary Margaret, Nell Garwood, Hylton Hughes, Perrin Eleanor, Jared Cahill, Elizabeth Lawrie, Jonathan, Catherine; four great-grandchildren, Madeleine Hughes, Maeve Holland, Christopher, John Joseph; cousins, Alice Virginia Siegenthaler, Betty Jane Scully.
Private services will be held at a later date in California. Memorial donations may be made to WHRO, Public Television, 5200 Hampton Blvd., Norfolk, Va. 23517. Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
