CECIL E. BUCHANAN

Cecil E. Buchanan, 74, of the 3600 block of Battlefield Blvd. South, died Feb. 8, 1996, in his residence.

Mr. Buchanan, the widower of Edna Matthews Buchanan, was a retired supervisor of ship building from the Department of Navy. He was a native of Portsmouth. He served as a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and was a member of the 354th Pioneer Mustang Fighter Group Association. He was a Mason.

Survivors include a daughter, Norma B. St. John of Chesapeake; three sons, Keith W. Buchanan of Mechanicsville, Va., Craig D. Buchanan of St. Augustine, Fla., and Glenn A. Buchanan of Irving, Texas; a sister, Doris B. Owens of Portsmouth; a brother, Charles B. Buchanan Jr. of Suffolk; and a grandchild, Hannah St. John of Chesapeake.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, is in charge.
