PENINSULA LEADERS WILL HOLD SUMMIT TO SET GOALS

Leaders of 12 Peninsula economic development agencies will meet with government leaders at an April 2 summit, said Newport News Mayor Barry DuVal. At the summit, organizations will make presentations to the group Virginia Peninsula Mayors and Chairs about their goals and activities, as well as listen to one another's ideas, DuVal said. Groups such as the Virginia Peninsula Economic Development Council, chambers of commerce and industrial development authorities will be invited. Mayors and Chairs members hope the summit will help create a strategy for two goals of the regionalism effort: community identity and business climate/entrepreneurial environment.
