Laura Kirby Riddick, 87, of the 200 block of West 33rd St., died Feb. 12, 1996, in Lafayette Villa Health Care. She was the widow of Raymond S. Riddick.
Mrs. Riddick was born in Hertford, N.C., and was a member of the Zion Light Church of Christ Disciples in Norfolk. She was one of the Mothers of the Church and a Missionary Member for over 60 years. Mrs. Riddick was also a pastors aide, and a member of both the Senior and Gospel Choir.
She is survived by her three daughters, Clara Belin and Marie Lawson, both of Norfolk, and Catherine Jordan of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sons, Deterine Kirby and James Riddick of Norfolk; sister, Geneva White of Chesapeake; 34 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, Feb. 19, at noon, with the Elder William Best presiding, in the Zion Light Church of Christ Disciples, 1035 Avenue G., Norfolk. Burial will be in the Roosevelt Memorial Park in Chesapeake. Family will receive friends and relatives at 223 West 33rd St. and will assemble there at 11 a.m. for the procession to the church. Visitation will began at the funeral home today. E.A. Hughes Funeral Home in charge.
