Daniel Francis Collins, 75, of the 3800 block of South Plaza Trail, died Feb. 20, 1996, in a local hospital.
He was the owner of Weather-Guard of Virginia. He was a native of Brighton, Mass., and a Catholic. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hiberians and the Knights of Columbus. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was on three beach heads, Anzio, Salerno and Southern France. He was a veteran of Anzio Beachhead and received the Bronze Star, American Legion Post 0110, and Disabled American Veterans Chapter (NU)20.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Hagerman Collins; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday by Fr. James M. Noto in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel. Burial is private and at a later date. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to Plaza Rescue Squad.
