Vann Howard Lefcoe, 52, of the 5000 block of Oakhill Ave., died Feb. 23, 1996, at his residence.
Mr. Lefcoe, a native of Norfolk, was a partner with the law firm of McGuire, Woods, Battle and Boothe. He was a member of Gomley Chesed Synagogue; United Jewish Federation of Tidewater; Board of Directors of the Portsmouth Industrial Foundation; Board of Trustees for the Portsmouth Committee; past chairman of the Portsmouth Planning Commission; past chairman of the Portsmouth Social Services Advisory Committee; Portsmouth Manpower Commission; Virginia State Board of Corrections; named as one of the five outstanding Young Men in Virginia by Virginia Jaycees in 1979; Beth Sholom Corporation Board of Governors; and published in ``Virginia Corporations.'' He was a graduate of the University of Virginia, where he received his bachelor's degree and law degree. He was a fellow of the Virginia Law Foundation and member of the Virginia State Bar Council and its executive committee. He was past chairman of the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board and assistant attorney general in Virginia from 1970-1973.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra E. Lefcoe; a daughter, Marnie Lynn Lefcoe; and a brother, Dr. Sanford L. Lefcoe of Norfolk.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Gomley Chesed Synagogue by Rabbi Philip S. Krohn. Burial will be in Gomley Chesed Cemetery. The family asks that flowers be omitted and that memorial donations be made to the Vann Howard Lefcoe Memorial Fund at the Tidewater Jewish Foundation. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling arrangements.
