Lorraine Thompson Schmidt, 76, of 301 Coree Trail, died Friday Feb. 23, 1996, at her residence.
Mrs. Schmidt was the daughter of the late Helen Ward and William D. Thompson and the wife of Mr. Matthew Schmidt of Edenton. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Edenton.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mathea Hutchings of Chesapeake; a son, Matthew W. Schmidt of Edenton; five grandchildren, Caroline Marie Holland of Chesapeake, Karen Marie Hutchings of Norfolk, Matthew W. Schmidt Jr. of Edenton, Diane Marie DeVane of Clinton, N.C., and Daniel Hutchings of Chesapeake; and two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Stacey Holland of Chesapeake.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday in Beaver Hill Cemetery in Edenton. The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and a Rosary and prayer service will be at 8 p.m., with Father Gene Grabowski officiating.
