Ephrain Walter Hobbs, 83, of Route 1, died Feb. 22, 1996, in his home.
A native of Nansemond, Va., he was a retired carpenter and farmer. He was a member of Hobbsville Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Pennina, ``Pennie'' Hollowell Hobbs; a daughter, Janice H. Swain of Ahoskie, N.C.; a son, Henry W. Hobbs of Webster, Mass.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Hobbsville Baptist Church, the Rev. Steve Conerly and the Rev. Bobby Hewitt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Harrell Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
