Gus ``Slim'' Speller, 78, of the 900 block of Hanson Ave., died Feb. 22, 1996, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mr. Speller, a retired retardor operator, worked for N&W Railroad for 30 years. He was a native of Windsor, N.C.
Survivors include his wife, Misher Ellen Speller; two daughters, Joyce Cuffee and Betty Clark; his mother, Pattie McCoy; five sisters, Sallie Wynn, Josphine Towe, Mytle Williams, Helen Williams, and Shirley Taylor; grandchildren, LaDonya Tyson, Clarance Harrell, Donclar Clark, Marvell Cuffee, Paul Clark, George Clark, Misher Clark, Levanda Clark; great-grandchild, Jaycobi Tyson; adopted son, Jimmy Krider; adopted grandson, Raymond Stevens; and three sisters-in-law, Catherine Rayford, Vivian Speller, Margaret Speller.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Monday by Bishop Eugene Brown at First Church of Christ Holiness USA. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will assemble at the residence at 11 a.m. Monday for the procession to the church. Hale Funeral Home is in charge. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
