Mack DeWitt Curl, 84, of Chesapeake, died Feb. 25, 1996, at Chesapeake General Hospital.
He was a retired road construction grader operator and an Amry veteran of World War II. He was a native of Gates County, N.C., son of the late G. Mack and Maude Roundtree Curl and brother of the late William Curl, George Curl, Ralph Curl and Gladys Copeland.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Goodwin Curl; three sons, Johnny G. Curl of Houston, Texas, Ron M. Curl and Thomas E. Curl, both of Chesapeake; and three grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Union Church Cemetery, Surry County, by the Rev. Michael W. Harrell. The family will receive friends at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Donations may be made to the American Arthritis Foundation.
