William B. White, 88, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 1996, in Maryview Hospital.
He was a native of Mathews and retired with 41 years in the Lighthouse Service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace M. White.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda J. Hewitt of Chesapeake; four sisters, Nellie White and Kathleen W. Bennett, both of Port Haywood, Va., Elsie W. Baxter of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Mildred W. Poole of Newport News; a brother, R. Franklin White of Port Haywood, Va.; and three grandchildren, Michelle Beaber, Brian L. Hewitt and Jennifer Hewitt, all of Chesapeake.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews. Burial will follow in Pear Tree Cemetery, Onemo, Va. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
