Brian Keith Ryder, 28, of 20 Greenbriar Road, died Feb. 26, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mr. Ryder, a native of Portsmouth, was the son George W. Ryder Sr. and Audrey Kane Ryder, both of Portsmouth. He was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church, Portsmouth, and served in 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include a sister, Karen R. Dortch of Chesapeake; a brother, Eric W. Ryder of Corapeake, N.C.; maternal grandmother, Effie B. Kane of Ellsworth, Maine; two nieces; and three nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, George ``Nick'' Ryder Jr.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Lew Hunter and the Rev. Tom Porter. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday
