James Lee Harris, 69, of the 100 block of Howard St., died Feb. 27, 1996, in Maryview Hospital.
Mr. Harris, a retired molder, worked for Owen Pattern Foundry and Manufacturing Company for 30 years. He was the widower of Essie V. Harris and a native of Seaboard, N.C.
Survivors include two daughters, Angela Y. Graham of Chesapeake and Wanda S. Wilson of Portsmouth; a son, James Leon Harris of Philadelphia, and two other sons; seven sisters, Josephine Garris, Essie Gatling, Mildred Williams, Caroline Morris, Eleanor Gatling, Ellare Harris and Catherine Deloatch, all of North Carolina; two brothers, James Gatling and William Gatling, both of North Carolina; three grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church South Hill, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Michael Tolliver. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon today. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Friday. The family will be at the home of Delores Hill, 2805 Bagley St., Portsmouth, and will assemble there for the funeral.
