Jesse James Rosebrough, 75, of 209 Derby Road, died March 1, 1996, in his home.
Mr. Rosebrough, a native of Ironton, Ohio, was retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer and was also retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Portsmouth, and St. Mary's Catholic Church, Norfolk. He was also a member of the Boy Scouts of America.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Catherine Rosebrough; a daughter, Linda Ann Ooten of Charleston, S.C.; five stepdaughters, Sister Miriam MacKillop of Washington, D.C., Ellen Cooke of Chesapeake, Bridget MacKillop of Germantown, Md., Christine Abbott of Houston, Texas, and Angela Howard of Portsmouth; two sons, Richard Rosebrough of Albany, Ga., and Michael Rosebrough of Portsmouth; 16 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Cradock. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may join the family Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the residence. Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth, is handling arrangements.
