Alvin T. Hines, 54, of the 200 block of Hatton St., died March 1, 1996, in Maryview Medical Center.
Mr. Hines, a metal sorter, was employed with Peck Iron Recycling Company for 20 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Faye Giles of Norfolk and Veronica Mitchell of Portsmouth; a son, Theodore Mitchell of Maryland; a sister, Marion Oretha Pruitt, and a brother, Calvin T. Hines, both of Portsmouth; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a very devoted special friend, Della Mitchell; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends; and a special friend of Della Mitchell, Martha Lea.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Corprew Funeral Home by Elder Thad Brinkley. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon today in the funeral home, where the family will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
