Alfred Troy ``Gus'' Joyner Sr., 93, of Roanoke Valley Nursing Home, died March 4, 1996, in the nursing home.
Mr. Joyner, a self-employed merchant, was a native of Northampton County, N.C. He was the widower of Vida Dunning Joyner and a member of Rich Square Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Joyner Sibley of Lumberton, N.C.; a son, Alfred Troy Joyner Jr. of Suffolk; a sister, Lena Joyner Jernigan of Ahoskie, N.C.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rich Square Baptist Church by the Rev. Bob Rogers. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Garrett Funeral Home, Rich Square, is in charge.
