FANNIE C. SAWYER

Fannie Claiborne Sawyer, of the 500 block of W. 26th St., died Feb. 27, 1996, peacefully at her residence.

Mrs. Sawyer, the widow of Lee Sawyer, was a native of Norfolk and the daughter of the late Alfred and Martha Claiborne. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and Wheaton Chapter (NU)73 Order of Eastern Star PHA.

Survivors include a son, Lee Sawyer, and his wife, Jennifer, of Norfolk; a granddaughter, Michelle Sawyer of the home; a great-grandson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She will also be sadly missed by devoted family friends, Ella Lucas, the Praileaw family, and god children, Jay, Brandon, Tiffany, and Jayson.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday by the Rev. John H. Foster at Shiloh Baptist Church, 745 Park Ave. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Viewing will be today from 2 to 8 p.m. at Riddick Funeral Service. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. The family will be at her residence.
