Sam Cuff Beale, 80, of the 3100 block of Havenwood Court, died March 4, 1996, at Portsmouth Nursing Home.
Mr. Beale, a retired sheet metal worker, worked for Norfolk Naval Shipyard for 30 years. He was a native of Newsome County, Va., and a member of Westhaven Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Alma Phelps Beale; a daughter, Patricia B. Walker and her husband, Thomas L. Walker of Suffolk; a son Kenneth E. Beale and his wife, Florence B. Beale of Columbia, S.C.; four grandchildren, Elizabeth B. Marvin, Sherri M. Beale, T. Lee Walker, and Cynthia M. Walker; and a great-granddaughter, Caroline Ashley Marvin.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Loving Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. W. Thomas Wood. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Suffolk. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and at other times at the home of the daughter, 2725 Windjammer Road, Suffolk. The family suggest memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association, (NU)20 The Koger Center, Suite 233, Norfolk, Va. 23502.
