Dorothy Gray Daniels, 70, of the 1200 block of Mount Vernon Ave., died March 3, 1996, at Beverly Manor of Portsmouth.
Mrs. Daniels, a retired nurse, worked for Portsmouth General Hospital for 20 years. She was a native of Portsmouth and a member of Celestial Baptist Church, Portsmouth. She was a member of the senior usher board. She was a member of Mount Hermon Chapter (NU)19, Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, James P. Daniels; a sister, Marion G. King of Portsmouth; four brothers, Thomas Gray of Portsmouth, Charles Gray of Camden, N.J., Joseph Gray of Hyaterville, Md., and Theodore Gray of Wichita Fall, Texas; three sisters-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday at Celestial Baptist Church by the Rev. Leon J. Boone. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Thursday. The family will be at the home of her sister, 1301 Wool Ave., and will assemble there for the funeral.
